About

We want you to
feel
safe and in control

Hey, I’m Pete, the founder of Keeper.

As a 32 year law enforcement veteran and K9 handler, I saw firsthand the havoc and tragedy drugs have on the family. I've conducted investigations from street level dealers to Transnational Criminal Organizations (Cartels) and everything between. I know they prey on people battling addiction.

Between lost loved ones, stress, and the legal process, it can leave parents feeling emotionally bankrupt.
I have personally given the devastating news to families of the loss of a loved one due to overdoses and poisonings. In my circle, I've had close friends that have lost loved ones to the darkness of addiction.

Typically, narcotics detection K9 teams are only accessible by law enforcement. But now, you have the ability to use the same tools to keep your home and workplace drug free.

And as a parent, I can’t imagine what it would feel like to watch my child be handcuffed and taken away because I had no alternative other than calling the police to find their drugs in my house. It’s an incredibly rough catch-22.

Often times, deterrence can prevent tragedy. Parents and employers can prevent controlled substances from being brought in just by having a narcotics detection K9 team screen hiding places at anytime they feel it is appropriate.

I believe that you should feel safe and in control of what goes on in
your household.

As a business owner, you want to keep your workplace "drug free". Often times, screenings by our K9 teams act as a deterrent that prevents employees from bringing dangerous substances into the work environment.

We’ll help you:

  • Screen for any drugs that are in your home or workplace, including vehicles
  • Keep your family, staff, and clients safe
  • Get peace of mind without involving law enforcement

If that resonates with you, you’re in the right place.

FAQs

Still have questions? Send us an email

Are the K9 teams dangerous?

The K9 partners at Keeper are social and friendly. They are typically full of energy and ready to work because it's a fun game for them.  We do ask that clients not interact with the dogs because they need to stay focused on their jobs.

Can you help me dispose of the drugs once they’re found?

Unfortunately we can not take custody and/or dispose of any substances that our K9 teams locate for you. There are no laws that provide an exception to this fact. We leave that up to the discretion of our clients.

Do I need to be home for the service?

You or an authorized representative must be present during the screening. By doing so, you or your representative will know where to look. Often times our handlers may notice something important like the presence of paraphernalia or other indicators of drug abuse and point them out to you.

What kinds of drugs can you find?

Our K9 Teams are trained to find the odors of Fentanyl, Methamphetamine, Cocaine, Heroin, MDMA (Ecstasy), and Cannabis. Unfortunately people are being poisoned with several types street drugs being tainted with Fentanyl costing the lives of over 100,000 people annually.

Why cannabis, isn't it legal in California?

Yes, in California recreational Cannabis is permitted for adults over the age of 21, and those over the age of 18 with a medical recommendation. However, Keeper recognizes that concerned parents and loved ones want to keep everyone safe that is battling addiction. Also, employers want to know if these substances are in the workplace.

Our K9 teams are NOT law enforcement and the dogs are there to find the presence of the odors they are trained to recognize to keep your home and workplace safe. Just because it's "legal" doesn't mean you want it your house or place of business.

What locations do you serve?

San Diego County, Imperial County, Orange County, Riverside County, and San Bernardino County.

Keeper Detection is based in the San Diego area and we typically try to schedule our screenings within a reasonable distance drive to best serve our clients.

With advanced noticed, screenings can be conducted in areas farther away from our traditional service area.
